About Athletes For Youth

Honor is born out of a desire to serve humanity. With this attitude of service and a desire to aid our youth and community, it is through individual and corporate financial sponsorships, donations, partnerships and volunteers, that Partners, Dell Curry, Steve Smith, Jay Bilas, Jeffrey A. Hood, Executive Director, and a Board of Directors assist the Athletes United for Youth in the realization of its mission.

The goal of Athletes United For Youth...

Athletes United for Youth, (AUFY) is a 501 c (3), not for profit youth organization with the goal of providing quality, affordable after-school programming for low-income youth in Charlotte-Mecklenburg communities to equip them with skills and experiences to become responsible and productive citizens. It also provides a prevention response to the growing need for positive development experiences to youth during a time when they could easily be influenced by negative behavior. AUFY also provides a "Safe Haven" during the after-school hours when families are not present.

The motto of Athletes United For Youth...

"Dream, Hope, Believe & Achieve"

Athletes United for Youth has been a long time investor in the Charlotte Community operating since 1998. Our primary focus is our youth, the heart and soul of our organization. It is our job to inspire, educate and motivate our youth, for their future, and for our future....

As youth, all three of our celebrity athletes - Del Curry (16-year NBA veteran), Steve Smith (Carolina Panther), and Jay Bilas (ESPN Basketball Analyst/Reporter) dreamed, believed, hoped and achieved. In having seen the results of that philosophy benefit them, they joined the efforts of Athletes United for Youth to continue to pass the philosophy on to others.
