Ruth's Chris Celebrity Sizzle Fundraising Dinner – May 18, 2008
Athletes United for Youth and Ruth's Chris Steak House invite attendees to a sizzling celebrity dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House, Uptown Charlotte on Sunday, followed by a fun-filled day of golf on Monday, (The Celebrity Golf Charity Classic) to be held at the Palisades Golf & Country Club.

This is an exciting fun filled event to kick-off the Celebrity Golf Charity Classic with all proceeds going towards our various programs to motivate and inspire positive attitudes, build character and self-esteem, as well as enhancing academic skills and creating model citizens for life.

Sizzle Festivities:

Celebrity Golf Charity Classic – May 19, 2008
The Golf Classic is held every year in June. It’s an exciting event where golfers are paired up with celebrity golfers to help raise funds that will help us through our various programs to motivate and inspire positive attitudes, build character and self-esteem, and affect change one youth at a time.

Athletes United for Youth Fundamentals Basketball Camp – August 2008
At the camp, Dell Curry & Jay Bilas teach young people the fundamental aspects of basketball in this weeklong basketball camp from 8:30 am-4pm each day. This camp also includes guest lectures from other professional basketball players on various techniques and fundamentals.

The Championships @ the Palisades Tennis Tournament – September 2008
The event is a fundraiser to benefit Athletes United for Youth. The event encompasses five full days of all-out competition; eight of the world’s greatest tennis champions; the Championships at The Palisades brings this spectacular event to the world-class Palisades Country Club. All proceeds go towards providing low-income underserved Charlotte–Mecklenburg community Youth access to structured educational computer learning centers, educational based after school programs and much needed summer day camps.

Athletes for Youth Winter Coat Drive – Fall
Each fall, The Athletes United for Youth organization secures or purchases coats to be distributed to youth and families in need within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.

Bojangles’ Annual High School Basketball Shoot-out - December 27, 28, 29, 2007
The high school holiday basketball Shootout tournament annually features some of the best nationally known and ranked high schools and individual players in the country, along with some of Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s most talented boys and girls teams and players. Teams converge upon Charlotte to complete in this prestigious basketball tournament and to lay claim to the championship hardware.

Athletes United for Youth develop and operates affordable, structured, and accessible after-school programs, computer learning centers, one-on-one mentoring, substance abuse prevention/awareness programs, family wellness training, and team concept awareness. Your contribution to Athletes United for Youth will help to enhance the lives of youth and young adults that reside within low-income, under-served Charlotte-Mecklenburg communities during a critical time in their lives.
